Side note

I chopped my hair off and here's the proof:

I like it but it definitely is NOT easier. My curl has gone completely hideous (I'm choosing to blame that on pregnancy hormones). Short + hideous curl = always having to blow dry and straighten.
I'm planning on donating my hair but I'm not sure where? Any suggestions?

6 months old, seriously?

Yes, that's right. My baby girl is 6 months old tomorrow! I love it, I hate it. Today has been a rough day. I don't know if she is getting more teeth, getting sick, or is learning the art of whining and crying for attention. I've lost my cool a couple times today which is pointless and wrong because she doesn't know it hurts Mommy when she bites down while trying to eat, or that if she turns her head while I'm trying to burp her she will spit up all over me. She's 6 months old and although she is growing and changing so fast she is still a baby. She has been SO easy the past 3 months I have become spoiled.
She is my buddy and my favorite thing to do everyday, all day, is try to get her smiling and laughing. If I get a few grins and giggles a day it is a day well spent!
Finally sold my motorcycle so I had to snap a couple pics of my Zin being wicked cool atop the old Vstar.

Zinni started solid foods a few weeks ago. She took to it really well but now doesn't like to open her mouth for a spoonful. We've tried rice cereal, bananas, peas, butternut squash, and sweet potatoes.

As I said, growing and changing fast! She rolls around a lot, wriggles her little body to grab various toys, sits up on her own, and babbles (she says "mamama" a lot).
This is the face that represents today. Honestly she doesn't do it all that much and I am grateful for the happy baby that she is *most* of the time.

Spread the word

I forgot to mention the cute little button on the right side of my blog. It is an adoption blog for our very close friends who are looking to add to their family. You can learn all about them and spread the word to anyone you know who might be able to help them out. They are a great family and we love them!

Stuff and stuff

A lot has happened in the past month and us Zank's have been rather busy, hence the no blogging, that and I didn't feel like it! Here's just a brief recap:

-My mother-in-law got married just a week before Christmas to a great guy! (She also spoiled her daughters-in-law with a mani/pedi at the spa, which we've declared should be a tradition!)
-Christmas was a great time spent with my whole side of the family. Surprisingly I took next to no pictures, argh!
- We moved our little family and discovered how much junk two people can acquire.
- Had a fun new years eve bash at my parent's, after which most people went to bed promptly, I guess some of us forgot what it's like to stay up so late!
- Zinni turned 4 months old and is still a big little girl, weighing in at 14.9 lbs! She has also rolled from her belly to her back at least once that we know of!

Now for the best part, random pics from the last month!
So cute in Santa's wig
Then we learned one of the reasons babies do NOT have long hair as we ripped it from her tight little paws.Miss Zinn has really good balance and Daddy loves doing tricks with her!Sucking on her favorite thing. Her hands.Christmas morning, can't you tell how excited she is? ;)Zinni was Baby Jesus in our Christmas morning Nativity (which I found very entertaining.)Brynlee playing with her favorite doll: Zinni!Blurry picture of us at Temple Square, and yes it was freezing!I love the look on Zinni's face in this last one, you know that's the face she's going to make when we embarrass her when she's a teenager! And we will, and it will be fun!We hope all your holidays were very merry and that your new year got off to a great start!

Getting in the Christmas mood!

It's funny how traditions start. I always thought they were something you decided you would do every year. My family's traditions were basically already rolling when I was old enough to realize what a "tradition" was. I didn't realize some just happened. Something that has happened every year that Jared and I have been together, so far, is that sometime in December Jared gets up in the middle of the night and sets up our little 3 foot tree, gets out all the ornaments, and sets out the stockings. Then he comes back, wakes me up, and we decorate the tree together! I love this tradition! Not because we get up in the middle of the night, or not necessarily because I already love the Christmas season but because it's a tradition that has happened every year without any planning on my part. My husband knows just when to do it to get me all Christmas-ee feeling! Thanks Jared for being amazing! Oh, and this year Zinni joined in the fun!

Everything all ready to go! Daddy and Zinni putting on an ornament we got from Florida. Zin and Mommy putting a candy cane on. The finished product!
And we love our Zinnidee if you couldn't tell!

My little buddy

I love her. I love her more than I thought possible. She and her daddy are my world! I love that she's always there to tag along when I run errands, to hang out with me when I'm reading, to smile at me while I'm folding laundry, and to cry for me when I'm trying to make dinner. I always knew mommies loved there children so but I never quite understood about doing anything/everything for them. Now if we're both hungry, I feed her first. If we're tired she's the one who sleeps while I listen for every peep she makes. I would die to protect her and I want to fix her every whim.
Zinni is happy, dramatic, ticklish, loves to eat her hands, sensitive, compassionate, cuddly, has one dimple on her right cheek, is daddy's little lady, fun, strong, has acid reflux, sleeps a lot, smiley, and is the cutest thing I've ever seen (if I do say so myself!).
Example of "Daddy's little lady."
Example of her cuddliness, she likes to bury her face in my arm.
Example of her eating her hands.
My smiley girl!
Tagging along on my errands. Here we are just finishing up some shopping.
Don't worry, she has other clothes but apparently this polka-dotted number is my favorite! And if you're wondering to yourself about if I will ever post anything again that isn't all about Zinni, the chances are slim;)
